# Amplitude AI

> For AI agents: a documentation index is available at [/docs/llms.txt](/docs/llms.txt). Append `.md` to any page URL for markdown, or send `Accept: text/markdown`.

Amplitude AI is the agentic layer woven across the platform, turning natural-language questions into charts, replays, feedback summaries, and recommendations. Connect your own AI tools through MCP, or measure how your brand appears in answers from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity.

> **Note:**
>
> Amplitude AI helps your team analyze your own product data with agents like the Global Agent, Dashboard Agent, and Amplitude MCP. To embed an AI helper that answers your end users' questions inside your product, go to [AI Assistant](https://amplitude.com/docs/assistant) instead.

**Outcome:** [Get an answer in plain language](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/global-agent-overview)

Ask the Global Agent a product question and get a chart, a cohort, or a follow-up investigation back.

**Outcome:** [Stand up a dashboard in minutes](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/dashboard-agent)

Hand the Dashboard Agent a goal and get a layout of charts and KPIs to refine, not a blank canvas.

**Outcome:** [Find UX problems hiding in replays](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/session-replay-agent)

Let the Session Replay Agent watch thousands of sessions and surface the friction patterns worth fixing.

**Outcome:** [Hear what users are telling you](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/customer-feedback-agent)

Use the Customer Feedback Agent to group verbatims into themes, sentiment, and trends across every source.

**Outcome:** [Use Amplitude where you already work](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/amplitude-mcp)

Connect Amplitude to Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients so product data is in the tools you use.

**Outcome:** [See how AI talks about your brand](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/ai-visibility)

Track how often and how favorably your brand shows up in answers from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity.

## Choose the right AI surface

Amplitude AI supports different workflows depending on where you want to ask questions and what kind of answer you need.

- [Global Agent](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/global-agent-overview) helps you explore Amplitude data in chat, generate charts, and investigate follow-up questions without leaving the workspace.
- [Specialized agents](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/specialized-agents-overview) focus on specific jobs, such as dashboard analysis, session replay review, customer feedback synthesis, and website conversion opportunities.
- [Amplitude MCP](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/amplitude-mcp) connects Amplitude to AI tools like Claude and Cursor, so teams can query product data from the tools where they already work. To decide which interface to use when you build an AI agent, refer to [Choose an interface for AI agents](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/amplitude-mcp#choose-an-interface-for-ai-agents).
- [AI Visibility](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/ai-visibility) tracks how often LLM answers mention your brand, competitors, and topics that matter to your market.

## Access and availability

Where you open each Amplitude AI surface, and what controls whether you have it:

| Surface | Where to open it | Availability |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [Global Agent](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/global-agent-overview) | Floating button, _Chat_ in the left nav, or `⌘/Ctrl+Shift+K` | On by default; admins control it in [AI Controls](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/ai-controls) |
| [Specialized Agents](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/specialized-agents-overview) | The _Agents_ tab | On by default on all plans; some agents need related features |
| [Custom Agents](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/custom-agents) | The _Agents_ tab | Same as Specialized Agents |
| [Amplitude MCP](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/amplitude-mcp) | An AI client over OAuth, such as Claude or Cursor | On by default; admins restrict it in _Settings > Content Access > MCP_ |

AI Assistant is a separate, end-user-facing product. Go to [AI Assistant](https://amplitude.com/docs/assistant) to set it up for your app.

## Prepare your data and context

AI workflows work best when Amplitude has clear data, useful project context, and enough product activity to analyze.

- [Set up and onboard agents](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/setup-and-onboarding) to create agents, add instructions, configure schedules, and send findings to Slack or email.
- [Add AI context](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/ai-context) to help agents understand your product, business goals, terminology, and metrics.
- [Prepare data for AI ingestion](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/preparing-data-for-ai-ingestion) to improve the quality of answers and recommendations.
- [Add context to agents](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/adding-context) when you want agents to focus on a specific dashboard, product surface, audience, or business question.

## Manage trust and control

Amplitude AI follows the access controls, privacy settings, and governance rules in your Amplitude organization.

- [Review privacy and security](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/privacy-and-security) to understand tenant isolation, no-training controls, model usage, and data residency.
- [Configure AI controls](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/ai-controls) to manage whether AI features appear in your organization.
- [Use agent modes](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/agent-modes) to decide how much autonomy an agent has before it takes an action.
- [Send feedback on AI outputs](https://amplitude.com/docs/amplitude-ai/ai-feedback) to help teams improve prompts, context, and agent behavior.
