# How to connect Amplitude MCP to Claude

Connect Amplitude MCP to Claude so you can ask questions about your product data, such as funnels, cohorts, and experiments, directly from claude.ai or the Claude desktop app. Setup uses OAuth and takes about two minutes. Use this when you want conversational access to Amplitude data from the Claude browser or desktop interface.

You need an active Amplitude account with project access and a Claude account on claude.ai or the Claude desktop app.

## How do I connect Amplitude MCP in Claude?

Amplitude is a listed connector in Claude's connectors directory, so you don't need to configure a server URL. For general setup reference, refer to the [Claude connectors directory documentation](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/11724452-use-the-connectors-directory-to-extend-claude-s-capabilities).

1. Navigate to [claude.ai](https://claude.ai/) or open the Claude desktop app.
2. Go to _Settings > Connectors_, then select **Browse** to open the connectors directory.

   On a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner has to enable the Amplitude connector in _Organization settings_ first. After that, each member connects their own Amplitude account.
3. Search for Amplitude, then select **+** on the verified Amplitude connector. You can also open the [Amplitude connector](https://claude.ai/directory/8e40fa13-4654-4387-bbad-12b8ecc81351) directly.
4. Complete Amplitude OAuth authorization when prompted.
5. Start asking questions about your Amplitude data.

## How do I verify the connection works?

Ask Claude: "What Amplitude projects can I access?" If you see a list of your projects, MCP is connected and authenticated.

### Do I need a paid Claude plan to use Amplitude MCP?

No. All Claude plans include connectors from Claude's directory.

### How do I switch Amplitude MCP from the US server to EU residency?

The Amplitude connector in Claude's directory uses the US server. If your Amplitude data resides in the EU, contact your Amplitude account team before connecting.

### What permissions does the Amplitude MCP server have?

The MCP server inherits the Amplitude permissions of the user who authenticates. You can only read or modify projects you already have access to in Amplitude. Amplitude grants no additional access.

### Why does the authorization page appear to keep spinning?

This is a known behavior. After completing Amplitude OAuth in your browser, the authorization page may appear to spin indefinitely. Close the tab. Authentication is complete and the connector is active.
