# Combine funnel events inline

Explore event combinations directly in the chart controls without creating and saving a permanent custom event. Follow these steps to add a custom event for inline comparison:

1. Click **More Options** in the Events side control and select _Combine events inline_.
2. Next, click _Add event inline_ to add a custom event. Add the number of custom events you need.

> **Note:**

> The inline event you create only applies to that specific chart and isn't accessible anywhere else.

3. To add event properties, hover on the event and click **Filter**. Add as many filter properties as needed for each inline event.
4. Click **Remove** to remove properties and inline events, as needed.

> **Note:**

> Custom events can't contain other custom events. Also, _Show User Journeys_, _Explore Conversion Drivers_, and _Show User Paths_ aren't available through the Microscope for inline event steps in funnels.
