[Reteno](https://reteno.com/) is an AI messaging platform for app user retention. It lets you launch ready-made mobile campaigns.

## Considerations

Keep these things in mind when sending events to Reteno:

- You must enable this integration in each Amplitude project you want to use it in.
- You need a Reteno account to enable this integration.
- Amplitude sends selected event properties along with the event.

## Set up the integration

For more information on setting up this integration, refer to the [Reteno documentation](https://docs.reteno.com/).

### Reteno setup

To configure an event streaming integration from Amplitude to Reteno, you need a Reteno account. Contact [Reteno](https://reteno.com/) to learn more.

1. Log in to your Reteno account.
2. Go to _Settings > Mob Push_ and create a new access key for your mobile app to use with Amplitude.

### Amplitude setup

1. In Amplitude, go to _Data Destinations_, then find **Reteno - Event Stream**.
2. Enter a sync name, then click **Create Sync**.
3. Toggle **Status** from **Disabled** to **Enabled**.
4. Enter your Reteno access key.
5. Toggle the **Send events** filter to select the events to send. Reteno recommends choosing the events that are most important to your use cases.
6. Select the event properties to forward. You can select all of them. You must include a device ID. Reteno uses it to identify anonymous contacts.
7. When finished, enable the destination and click **Save**.

## Pass the user IP address

To let Reteno determine the user's location and save it on the contact profile, for example for location-based segmentation, make the user's IP address available on events sent to Amplitude.

You can do this in either of the following ways:

- Pass the user's IP address explicitly on the source event. In the Reteno destination settings, map that property to `ip` or `IP`.
- Pass `"ip": "$remote"` on the source event. Amplitude determines the IP address and makes that value available to Reteno.

Reteno uses the IP address to determine the user's location and add it to the contact profile.

## How the event appears in Reteno

Amplitude sends events to Reteno through the public API.

- `POST https://mobile-integration-api.reteno.com/api/v1/events` is the endpoint.
- [iOS user behaviour](https://docs.reteno.com/reference/ios-user-behaviour) and [Android user behaviour](https://docs.reteno.com/reference/tracking-user-behaviour) transfer user events such as `ScreenView` and `PushSubscribed`.
- The SDK automatically tracks [app lifecycle events](https://docs.reteno.com/reference/app-lifecycle-events), including `ApplicationInstalled`.

Additional resources:

- [Event analytics](https://docs.reteno.com/docs/events-analytics) is where you check and visualize the event flow.
- [Sending past events](https://docs.reteno.com/docs/sending-past-events) explains how to transfer existing event data from a CRM or another data store to Reteno.
- [Order transferring](https://docs.reteno.com/docs/sending-orders-via-api) explains how to transfer order data through the API.

## Use cases

- Real-time events trigger automated campaigns so you can send relevant, timely messages. Examples include a special offer to stimulate a first order, or a message to reactivate users who didn't take a target action. Reteno's ready-made workflows for mobile products can move users through the sales funnel.
- Segmentation helps you understand user preferences. Create dynamic segments for campaigns based on specific actions in your app, so each user gets content that matches their interests.
- Analytics supports decisions about which recipient should get which content, in what order, and when. As new events arrive, those models keep adapting.
