Guides and Surveys permissions let you override a user's base Amplitude [role](/docs/admin/account-management/user-roles-permissions) to grant different access for Guides and Surveys.

{% callout type="note" heading="RBAC-enabled organizations" %}
If your organization uses [Role-based Access Controls (RBAC)](/docs/admin/account-management/role-based-access-controls-rbac), manage Guides & Surveys permissions through the centralized RBAC interface at _Settings > Role management_. The instructions on this page apply only to organizations that don't use RBAC.
