# Advanced Segments

Advanced Segments brings user-, session-, and event-scoped conditions into one builder, with AND/OR logic, nested groups, ordered event sequences, and cart-property filtering.

## What it is

**Description:** Advanced Segments brings user-, session-, and event-scoped conditions into one builder, with AND/OR logic, nested groups, ordered event sequences, and cart-property filtering.

**Why:** Teams can combine user, session, and event conditions in one builder—for example, finding sessions with a product view followed by an add-to-cart within at most two page views.

**Highlights:** • *THEN:* Define ordered event sequences in user scope. • *THEN WITHIN:* Define ordered event sequences within a session, with a limit on selected-event occurrences after the first step through the second step. • *Cart-property filtering:* Filter events using properties of items inside cart/object arrays. • *Sessions chart support:* Alongside Event Segmentation, Funnels, Data Tables, and Metrics Explorer.

**Where:** Chart segmentation controls → *+ Add Segment / + Filter*. Advanced Segments coexists with Classic saved segments.

**When:** Rollout is proceeding in stages, starting with Starter and Plus organizations.
