AI Visibility is Amplitude's solution for tracking and improving your brand's presence in AI-generated answers across ChatGPT and Google AI Overview.
Who should use AI Visibility?

How do I get started with AI Visibility?
All customers across all plans can access AI Visibility directly inside the Amplitude platform. Amplitude also provides a limited, free experience to non-customers.
How frequently is AI Visibility updated?
AI Visibility refreshes weekly. The free version doesn't update.
Why does AI search matter for my business?

How does AI Visibility measure brand performance in AI search?

Can AI Visibility show me where competitors are winning?
Yes. The competitive rankings feature highlights exactly which prompts and keywords lead to competitor mentions in AI search, and provides recommendations for closing the gap.
Does AI Visibility provide optimization suggestions for specific URLs or copy?
Yes. AI Visibility surfaces automated recommendations to boost LLM visibility for specific pages and copy. Suggestions include adding clear headings, breaking long paragraphs into shorter sections, inserting concise FAQ blocks, and more.
Does AI Visibility connect to traffic and conversions?
Unlike standalone search-analysis tools, AI Visibility is built into Amplitude. You can tie AI search visibility to products built to manage customer behavior, conversion, and revenue.
Are the prompts shown in AI Visibility based on data from real users?
No. OpenAI, Google, and other companies don't share what users are searching. The prompts Amplitude generates are based on what LLMs know is relevant to your brand.
Is AI Visibility English only?
No. In the logged-in version, you can configure a brand's prompts and responses for any language. LLMs may occasionally still respond in English.
How does AI Visibility compare to AEO-specific tools like Profound or Evertune AI?
Two differentiators stand out: platform and pricing. Because AI Visibility is part of the Amplitude Digital Analytics Platform, it connects with the rest of your org's data to link AEO insights to ROI. It also uses the platform's capabilities to prioritize recommendations and simulate changes. Other AEO-specific tools are siloed, and many don't have third-party integrations yet. As a result, you have to do manual work to act on AEO data. AEO tools also range from moderately to extremely expensive; Amplitude AI Visibility is free.
How does AI Visibility compare to SEO+AEO tools like Semrush or Ahrefs?
Same two differentiators as above: platform and pricing. As part of the Amplitude Digital Analytics Platform, AI Visibility connects to the rest of your org's data and uses platform capabilities to prioritize recommendations and simulate changes. Other SEO suites are siloed, and AI visibility usually costs extra; with Amplitude, it's free.
Can I modify the prompts?
Yes, when you're logged into Amplitude. After you enter new prompts, the system refreshes.
Can I change the LLM that AI Visibility uses?
No.
Can I update my competitors?
Yes. Make the changes on the main AI Visibility page.
Is AI Visibility analysis private?
Yes. Amplitude processes URLs you submit for analysis within your authenticated Amplitude organization. When Amplitude forwards requests to the LLM endpoint, contractual controls cover them. LLM providers don't retain your analysis requests or use them to build public models.
What is Amplitude's default data retention policy?
Amplitude retains customer data for the duration of the subscription. After contract termination, Amplitude retains your information for a 30-day data-retrieval period. After that, Amplitude deletes all customer data unless limited retention is legally required.
What are the usage limits for AI Visibility?

How many popular prompts can be generated for each category or filter selection?
Unlimited by category or filter selection. Your total prompt count is limited by your pricing tier.
Are identical prompts across different LLMs calculated separately?
No. Amplitude considers identical prompts a single prompt regardless of the LLM. The same prompt across different LLMs counts once toward your usage limit.
Do popular prompts include volume data (for example, search counts) to support rankings?
Not yet. Amplitude plans to add Google search volume to provide more context on the popularity of each prompt.
What platforms and models does AI Visibility track?
AI Visibility monitors brand performance in OpenAI ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews. Through the MCP, Amplitude also supports external AI clients such as Cursor for natural-language queries against Amplitude data.
How do Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC) apply to AI Visibility?
Amplitude's RBAC uses three layers — roles, permissions, and actions — to let administrators assign default or custom roles at the project level. Users and groups can have view-only, admin, or other permission sets per project, which lets you limit who can access each project's AI Visibility analysis.
What reporting or export options can I use?
You can export all prompt metrics as a CSV. In Amplitude Analytics, you can export charts as PNG, PDF, CSV, or shareable links, and dashboards and usage reports as PDF or PNG.
Can I identify activity such as sessions and events from LLM or conversational AI tools?
You can identify activity referred from an LLM or conversational AI tool through either the referrer or utm_source. There's logic for identifying each in the default channel rules. If you already have existing rules, you can replicate this logic within your own.
Is prompt or citation-level data available for referrals?
LLM or conversational AI tools don't supply the prompts when they refer users to other applications. You can evaluate entry pages for sessions from LLMs to understand which pages on your site most commonly receive direct referrals.
Can I filter for premium users such as ChatGPT Plus or Pro?
No. AI Visibility looks at the total responses from an LLM or AI.
What is the maximum number of users I can have for AI Visibility?
Unlimited.
What is the data source for popular prompts on my dashboard?
Amplitude asks LLMs such as ChatGPT to come up with likely prompts that marketers might be interested in.
Does AI Visibility integrate with analytics platforms like Google Analytics?
Yes. Amplitude provides a native Google Analytics 4 integration.
