Build your first funnel
A funnel tracks how many users complete a sequence of events and shows where they drop off. Use a funnel when you want to measure a specific path; use Journeys when you want to explore paths without defining the steps first. Start by asking Global Agent a question, then follow the walkthrough step by step.
- 1
Ask Global Agent
Open in Amplitude →Click the link to prompt Global Agent in a new tab. You must sign in to Amplitude.
- 2
Review the funnel it built
Check the steps and their order match the path you care about (for example,
Add to Cart→Checkout→Complete Purchase). Tweak any event inline. - 3
Set the window and segment
Adjust how long users have to convert, then break the funnel down (for example, mobile versus desktop) to compare who makes it through.
- 4
Find your biggest drop-off
Read the steepest step, then ask Global Agent a follow-up to understand why.
- 5
Act on what you found
Save the dropped-off users as a cohort to target, or dig deeper into where they went using the Journeys chart.

This is a sample funnel. Yours looks similar but uses your own events and data, so the steps and numbers differ.
