Quickstart

Follow these steps to go from a fresh install to your first feature flag.

1. Install

   Install the CLI

   bash

   npm install -g @amplitude/developer-cli
   

   Go to Install for npx usage and prerequisites.

2. Authenticate

   Log in

   Authenticate with the OAuth device flow and save the result as the default US profile:

   bash

   amp auth login --region us
   

   Approve the request in the browser when prompted. Go to Authentication for Personal Access Tokens and profile management.

3. Verify

   Check your context

   Confirm the CLI resolves your authentication and org/project context:

   bash

   amp context
   

4. Explore

   List your projects

   bash

   복사

   amp projects list
   

   In an interactive terminal, this prints a table. Pipe it to another command, or pass --json, to get raw API JSON instead.

5. Create

   Create a feature flag

   Create a flag in one of your projects:

   bash

   복사

   amp flags create --project <project_id> --key my-flag --name "My Flag"
   

   Then confirm it exists:

   bash

   복사

   amp flags get --project <project_id> --flag <flag_id>
   

From here, run amp help to list every available command surface, or check Configuration for global flags like --json and --dry-run.
