Integrate Discord with Amplitude

Amplitude Global Agent

The Amplitude Discord app supports the Amplitude Global Agent. You can ask natural-language questions about your Amplitude data, create and refine charts, and find existing dashboards from Discord with /amplitude. For more information, refer to Global Agent in Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Discord.

Amplitude's Discord app runs Global Agent in your Discord server. Use /amplitude to ask product questions and get chat insights without leaving the channel. If you need advanced chart controls, notebook analysis, or full dashboard editing, open Amplitude in the web app instead.

With Amplitude's app for Discord, you can:

  • Ask natural-language questions about your Amplitude data with /amplitude
  • Get answers in your Discord server, including chart images when the agent references charts
  • Use suggestion buttons to ask follow-up questions without leaving the channel
/amplitude works in Discord servers only—not in direct messages. For conversation memory, link unfurls, and other limits, see FAQ.

If your company uses Amplitude's EU data center, Amplitude uses a separate Discord app for EU customers. When you connect from an EU organization or click Add bot to Discord, Amplitude selects the correct app for your region automatically.

Connect to Discord

To connect your Amplitude account to Discord, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Personal Settings.
  2. Click Connected Apps, then click Connect for Discord.
  3. In the new browser tab that opens, click Authorize to grant Amplitude access to your Discord identity.

Add the Amplitude bot to a Discord server

A Discord server admin must add the Amplitude bot to the Discord server where you want to use /amplitude.

  1. On the Connected Apps page in Amplitude (Settings > Personal Settings > Connected Apps), click Add bot to Discord.
  2. Choose the Discord server, then confirm the install.

You immediately receive a Discord message from Amplitude, including a link to a brief explanation of how to use the integration.

Verify /amplitude is available

In a channel in that server, run /amplitude with a simple question about your product data. If Discord doesn't show the /amplitude command, confirm that the Amplitude bot is installed in the server and that Global Agent is enabled for your Amplitude organization.

Ask product questions with /amplitude

After you connect your account and a Discord server admin adds the bot:

  1. In a Discord server channel, type /amplitude.
  2. Enter your question in the prompt field, such as:
    • "What are our weekly active users?"
    • "How is sign-up to purchase conversion trending this month?"
  3. Submit the command.

Amplitude shows a short working status, then posts the answer in the channel with who asked and what they asked. Errors appear privately to you. Use suggestion buttons for follow-ups, and chart images appear in the reply when the agent references charts.

Global Agent requirements

Your Amplitude organization must have Global Agent enabled. The Amplitude Global Agent feature in Discord uses Large Language Model (LLM) technology to answer questions about your Amplitude data. AI-generated responses may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete. Always verify critical business insights directly in your Amplitude workspace.
