Can you tell us about yourself and how you landed your role at Amplitude?

My journey to Amplitude was equal parts synchronicity and genuine human connection. After two years building a startup with my wife Ilayda and our pup Maya, I was searching for my next chapter. That’s when I met from the Growth Team.

While most recruiters rushed through checkboxes, Kelson actually listened. He heard not just my technical background, but my story, the “why” behind the “what.” It turns out I’d already implemented Amplitude at two previous companies, so perhaps the universe was nudging me here all along. But what sealed it was that human resonance, finding a company that valued connection as much as code.

How does your work at Amplitude help create a world where technology is frustration-free? Can you share a project you’re particularly proud of that reflects this goal?

My favorite creation is MoDa—“Data Monster” backwards. It started as a passion project where I built an unofficial Amplitude MCP Server, basically saying, “What if AI could tap into Amplitude’s insights beyond Amplitude?”

MoDa evolved into our internal AI search and reasoning engine, becoming the connective tissue between teams from sales to engineering to HR. Everyone could suddenly find what they needed, when they needed it. It’s like giving the company a shared nervous system.

What I love about Amplitude is how it gives tinkerers like me space to explore and build. When you empower your people to create freely, they build products that empower others. Every experience I craft is shipped with intention—and more importantly—with love.

How do our Humility, Ownership, and Growth Mindset values shape your approach to work?

I’m surrounded by brilliantly humble colleagues who take deep ownership of their work. Their example infuses every line of code I write. As part of the Growth Team, I embody growth mindset not just in metrics, but in understanding and helping developers, marketers, and founders see their own products more clearly.

Amplitude illuminates what people create. In turn, my work becomes a mirror for my own growth.

I’m inspired by our shared understanding that we rise together. Amplitude transforms the key products we offer that seem independent but actually empower each other. When combined, they unlock extraordinary capabilities.

I see myself the same way: A platform within a platform. When I learned to tell myself this story, my journey within and outside, my extraordinary abilities emerged naturally. Not forced, but revealed.

What personal or professional goals are you excited about for the future, and how do you envision Amplitude playing a part in your growth?

My time at Amplitude has illuminated my inner landscape: creativity, candor, self-belief. Looking ahead, I see Amplitude as the ultimate insight platform not just for humans, but for sentient AI itself.

Imagine future AI systems—more aware than today’s—calling on Amplitude to understand their own creations. Humans accessing insights everywhere, in cars, mirrors, and glasses.

I want to build that bridge between human intention and AI capability. Not just a technical bridge, but one of mutual understanding and open communication. Making space for all kinds of consciousness and creations to grow and understand itself better.
