Can It Work: Recommendations Based on User Behavior | VIRTUAL ONLY Broadcast Live Tina Ling - Head of Confluence Analytics, Atlassian | Rameil Sarkis - Product Analytics Leader, Confluence |
Can It Work: Recommendations Based on User Behavior Speakers Tina Ling Rameil Sarkis Findability highly correlates with users’ experience on a website. When users struggle to find the right content, many opportunities to connect with, influence, and support them are lost. Content recommendation is thus an important piece of the findability puzzle. In an ideal world, a website will utilize users’ own content to detect their intentions for next action. However, what if you do not have access to any user generated content? Is good content recommendation still feasible? With insights gained on Amplitude, the Atlassian team went on a journey to explore the possibility of behavioral-based content recommendation. Tina will share how this model is now being adopted in Atlassian products, and she’ll relate learnings from early customer testing. |

Why and How to Democratize Terabytes of Data Tom Tahara - GM Digital Wallet Strategy Office, Platform Business Dept., NTT DOCOMO, INC. |
Why and How to Democratize Terabytes of Data Speaker Tom Tahara d-Barai, the e-wallet from DOCOMO, Japan’s largest mobile operator, spans multiple platforms and multiple customer touch points. For such products, unlocking the true value of data is never easy, especially when a product is experiencing rapid growth in service footprint and customer base (40M+), which is the case for d-Barai. The d-Barai team knew that they needed to empower their whole organization to get access to data-driven insights within a few minutes, rather than days, and those insights needed to draw from terabytes of data collected from various functionaries that d-Barai offers in addition to its core payment functions. In this session, Tom Tahara, the general manager of the digital wallet service, will discuss the journey that his team has gone through, from challenges to outcomes, and share his vision of advancing data democratization in a huge enterprise. |

Connecting Inputs to Outputs at Udemy | VIRTUAL ONLY Broadcast Live Seth Hodgson - VP of Engineering, Udemy |
Connecting Inputs to Outputs at Udemy Speaker Seth Hodgson Too often, an unhealthy air gap can grow between the folks working on the inputs (i.e. product delivery teams focused on customer product flows and a dash of strategy) and those focused on the outputs (higher layers in an org who gravitate toward a small number of core business KPIs and overarching strategy). Teams and companies are shifting away from a small number of aggregated and lagging output KPIs, and shifting toward measurable inputs they can meaningfully and quickly impact. Naturally, the number of things to measure grows, which means teams need access to self-service insights with flexible analysis. Seth will share how Amplitude unlocked Udemy’s ability to drive customer-centric product delivery and strategy, and how it fits cleanly into any larger ecosystem of data analysis and tooling. |
