Description: We've leveraged our principle of customer centricity, and taken a look at recent customer tickets in the event streaming area. For each category of tickets we saw, we identified a couple of improvements to be made and, well, made them. We also looked at some session replays of users, and found some improvements we can make to the destinations page and event streaming setup page. Here's a short list of the improvements:
- Create only the important properties in HubSpot: previously, we were creating all event properties, which was causing customers to run into issues during setup. This way, we only create the properties that customers actually want to have in HubSpot!
- Disable "all events" in event selector in HubSpot event streaming: This being an option was causing confusion, as we didn't actually support it. Removing it from the UI alleviates this pain and prevents further confusion.
- Add a search bar + filter dropdown to destinations page: For orgs like us who have over 9000(!) destinations, it can be hard to find the one you're looking for. This shortens the amount of time it takes to jump back into configuring your connections.
- Add "creator" column to destinations: for knowing who to go to for your destinations setup needs!
- Improved documentation for HubSpot event streaming: as this is one of our most complicated destinations to date, it definitely needed more clarity in the docs for better customer experience!
- ...And more!
Why: Event streaming is a sizeable category in our oncall load, and it deserved some attention and love. In addition, it doesn't hurt to also add the small QOL improvements where possible!
