Changelog/Metric Explorer is the Chart Default
Analytics·Oct 29, 2026

Metric Explorer is the Chart Default

Metric Explorer is the default chart for all users.

What it is

Description: Metric Explorer is Amplitude’s default chart for new analyses. It brings event metrics, session metrics, saved metrics, and formulas into one chart, so customers can compare behavior and visits without switching chart types.

Why: Event Segmentation and User Sessions previously split related questions across separate charts. Metric Explorer makes it easier to see, for example, whether rising page views reflect more visits or more activity per visit. • Analyze event and session metrics side by side in one chart • Build hybrid formulas such as revenue or add-to-carts per session • Apply measurements, filters, and group-bys to explore each metric • “Create a chart” now opens Metric Explorer by default; existing charts are unchanged, and Event Segmentation and User Sessions remain available under “View additional chart types”

Available in EUDC: Yes.

When: Now!
