Stale Flag Management
Feature flags and experiments are now automatically evaluated for staleness. Flags that have been fully rolled out or rolled back for 30 days are marked as stale, surfaced in the UI, and notify owners to take next steps. Stale dates can be updated, removed, or marked as permanent for long-lived flags.
What it is
Why: Teams struggle to track and clean up old flags, which can lead to technical debt and cluttered flags. Stale status gives clear visibility into which flags need follow-up and nudges owners to take action, helping teams keep flag usage healthy and intentional.
Where:
- Flag & Experiment view: A new Stale status badge appears in the header when a flag becomes stale.
- Flags & Experiments table view: Stale appears as a secondary status and is filterable.
- Notifications: Flag owners receive email/Slack notifications when a flag or experiment becomes stale
