At Amplitude, our digital analytics platform enables companies to build better products. The power behind our products: our people!

In our #MeetTheAmpliteer series, we amplify their stories and honor their achievements in shaping data-driven success.

This series installment spotlights Fedor Chuvilkin, senior engagement manager and recent winner of Amplitude’s Values Award for Growth Mindset.

Tell us about yourself, your role in powering Amplitude, and your personal journey that brought you to where you are today?

My name is Fedor, and I am part of the Professional Services (PS) team at Amplitude. The PS team is a specialized team within our go-to-market organization that works with our largest customers to help drive business outcomes.

I joined Amplitude two years ago after an eight-year management consulting career, where I worked primarily in the analytics and data space, delivering projects for large companies inspired by the disruptions of digital natives. Consulting gave me a ton of professional growth and opportunities working with the world's largest enterprise companies across the globe. I could travel the world, see working cultures in Russia, Europe, the Middle East, India, and Japan, and have exposure to sophisticated industries such as aircraft manufacturers and semiconductor equipment makers.

I am grateful for the experience. It also allowed me to relocate to Amsterdam, where I live now. However, over time, I felt a need for a change. A change from being always “external” to a place where I can belong, a place with a strong culture and that is a bit more agile and innovative.

It took me around one year to find a place to expand my consulting skills and cultivate two areas close to my heart: data analytics and solving business problems. Amplitude came on my radar when a product manager from Miro shared a retention playbook with me. As a former consultant, I was blown away by the quality of that piece. I have never seen a 100-page presentation where each slide was spot on. Fast forward a bit, and product became another area of specialization—now my expertise “triangle” feels complete.

How does your role at Amplitude allow you to contribute to the company’s mission of helping companies bring “Power to their Products?” Can you share an example of a particularly impactful project you’ve worked on?

Data, insights, and actions often govern success in the product world. The faster you drive this loop, the more innovation you can bring, which helps you find and secure your product-market fit and expand.

On an abstract level, my role at Amplitude is about making customers successful in driving that loop, focusing on the areas that require the most attention. For some customers, it means implementing Amplitude for their priority use cases. For others, it’s sharing digital analytics expertise and enabling large organizations to have an analytics and experimentation culture.

Two notable examples include establishing end-to-end product analytics for a top-three gaming company’s data, analytics, marketing, and executive teams, and scaling experimentation across 20 teams in a global ed-tech business.

Amplitude’s cultural values of humility, ownership, and growth mindset are foundational to the company’s success. How do you embody these values in your work?

These three words are one of the top reasons why people join Amplitude, and I did not know how powerful they were until I joined the company. It is a self-correcting mechanism that helps adapt individual behaviors and focus on what matters for the company’s success.

Humility and ownership also serve as the guiding principles of customer-facing work, and thanks to the growth mindset, all Ampliteers can feed their intellectual curiosity well beyond their roles. For me, this is in the areas of product, engineering, and marketing.

Amplitude offers a variety of benefits and perks to its employees. Which has made the biggest difference for you in your wellness and well-being?

It is a less obvious one for the global team, but I personally really enjoy our Amplitude office on the canals in the center of Amsterdam. It is a place of focus, fun, and connection. The workplace team is doing a great job keeping the spirit in the office, and the location enables the team to see the city center of Amsterdam.

What is the #1 thing that most enables you to do your best work at Amplitude?

My colleagues. I am grateful to be in a company where I would invite everyone for dinner at my house. That does not happen often at other companies.

We know that music can be a powerful motivator. What song or artist do you turn to when you need an extra boost of energy to power through a tough project or challenge at work?

Any song from “The Getaway” or “Unlimited Love’ albums from Red Hot Chili Peppers.
