At Amplitude, our digital analytics platform enables companies to build better products. So what’s the power behind our products? It’s our people!

In our #MeetTheAmpliteer series, we’re amplifying their stories and honoring their achievements in shaping data-driven success.

This installment of the series spotlights Lenora Bennis, Senior Success and Renewals Manager and recent winner of Amplitude’s Values Award for Ownership.

Tell us about yourself, your role in powering Amplitude, and your personal journey that brought you to where you are today?

I joined Amplitude in 2021 as a customer success manager based in our Amsterdam office, responsible for our Scale customer portfolio in the EMEA region. As a customer success manager, I help my customers understand how they can use Amplitude to power their own products by offering them coaching, advice on best practices, and consultation on use cases. I have to learn the product myself to run such sessions for the customers. Sometimes I think my role exemplifies the saying, "To really know if you have understood something, you have to try teaching it.”

Since 2021, I have internally moved offices from Amsterdam to Paris, and my role has evolved to include more strategic projects and responsibilities within the same business division.

How does your role at Amplitude allow you to contribute to the company's mission of helping companies bring "Power to their Products?" Can you share an example of a particularly impactful project you've worked on?

Day in and day out, I work with more than 150+ customers to help them connect their business goals to their product and marketing goals. When doing so, I often get told by customers how Amplitude has helped them identify something about their product or usage that has saved them time or money with the insights that they were able to dig through. I am privileged to hear directly from the customers on how we have helped them bring “Power to their Products.”

Having said this, when working with such an extensive portfolio of customers, it can sometimes be daunting to meet each customer where they are on their journey. At Amplitude, we deeply care about and put our customers first. To meet our customers where they are and have a bird’s eye view of their requirements, I recently worked with our internal Customer Success Operations team to help roll out Gainsight to the broader company. Now, I can confidently say that we can conduct more robust and impactful conversations with our customers, helping everyone move towards the same goal.

Amplitude's cultural values of humility, ownership, and growth mindset are foundational to the company's success. How do you embody these values in your work?

The role I have at Amplitude is quite a cross-functional one!

Firstly, having conversations with customers about their exact needs and relaying them to our product teams encourages both humility and a growth mindset.

Secondly, all the cross-collaborations across GTM teams end with many action points, giving plenty of opportunities to demonstrate ownership.

Finally, I can channel these values as part of the EMEA Community Impact ERG, where we attempt to support our local communities through active charity work, knowledge-sharing sessions, and internal events.

Amplitude offers a variety of benefits and perks to its employees. Which has made the biggest difference for you in your wellness and well-being?

If I have to choose the one that has made the most significant difference to my wellness and well-being, it would be access to Modern Health. Amplitude provides all Ampliteers access to Modern Health for up to eight free coaching sessions. I’ve used these coaching sessions when I needed mental health support to navigate difficult times in my personal life. Today, I specifically use the coaching sessions for career development, and it has helped me immensely in getting an external perspective on my career and what I should be working towards.

What is the #1 thing that most enables you to do your best work at Amplitude?

Every day, I’m inspired by the people I work with. Although so many things change at Amplitude (because it is a fast-growing company), one constant is the opportunity to work with talented and incredible people.

I work with a great team that allows me to bring my best self to work, and the hybrid working culture helps me maintain a work-life balance.

We know that music can be a powerful motivator. What song or artist do you turn to when you need an extra boost of energy to power through a tough project or challenge at work?

I love music, and I find myself listening to all kinds of genres. However, I prefer to use music as a carrot to listen to after work when going out with friends or doing chores. When working on a tough project, I get into the zone and tune out any sounds. Sometimes, I vocalize my thoughts, and it looks to others as if I’m speaking to myself :)
