At Amplitude, our Digital Analytics Platform enables companies to build better products. And the true power behind our success? Our people!

In our Meet the Ampliteer series, we amplify their stories and honor their achievements in shaping data-driven success.

This installment spotlights the three winners of Amplitude’s Values Awards, which recognize excellence in Humility, Ownership, and a Growth Mindset.

Can you tell us about yourself and how you landed your role at Amplitude?

Dan: I’m originally from Sydney, Australia, but I have called London, UK, home for the past seven years. I joined Amplitude at the beginning of 2021 as a commercial account executive. Since then, I’ve had roles in both Enterprise and Emerging Enterprise, working toward landing new logos and expanding and supporting our customers across the UK and Ireland.

Tyler: I live in The Bronx with my partner and our 2 cats, and we enjoy everything that New York City has to offer, especially the food and live theatre! I joined Amplitude in October 2020 as a Customer Success Manager, continuing my SaaS career journey supporting platforms that solve interesting customer problems. I then moved to our Professional Services team in the Fall of 2021 to align with the scope of work that I enjoy doing the most—consulting with customers to ensure the decisions they make, both technically and strategically, will help them get the most out of our capabilities and a return on their investment in us.

Kelson: I’m originally from Colorado, but I’ve called the Bay Area home for the past 15 years. I live in Redwood City with my wife and our cats. I started my career as a software engineer and stumbled into a growth engineering role at a fintech startup. That experience sparked my passion for growth engineering. In April 2020, I joined Amplitude to help build and shape the first growth engineering team here. Seeing how our work drives real value for our customers and the company has been an incredible journey.

How does your work at Amplitude help create a world where technology is frustration-free? Can you share a project you’re particularly proud of that reflects this goal?

Dan: I think that because of the pace at which consumer technology has proliferated, we often find ourselves faced with shoddy digital experiences that are frustrating and take precious time away from us. I like to think that a world free from technology frustrations will help us give our full and best attention to the things that matter most—friendships, family, amazing experiences, and so on. It’s nice to know that Amplitude is moving the needle in that direction.

Tyler: I look forward to talking to customers about using analytical insights to help make their next decisions to improve their products. Specifically, I am keen on the power of having our Analytics and Experiment products in one platform to keep organizations learning, innovating, and learning again! My proudest moments are running Experimentation Workshop sessions to help customers determine how they can continuously improve their testing practices and strive for higher quality test ideas that are more likely to impact their user experience. There’s always an opportunity to reduce friction for users, and therefore, there are always new ideas to be had!

Kelson: A big part of Growth Engineering is making the product easier to get started with and faster to gain value from. My team focuses on reducing friction for users and helping them connect with Amplitude’s value quickly. As part of the Amplitude Made Easy initiative, we streamlined the sign-up and onboarding flows, enabling users to get started in minutes with just a single line of code. This made the process seamless and significantly reduced the effort required to see results. These changes helped users dive into Amplitude quickly and unlock valuable insights without unnecessary friction. We’re always looking for new ways to simplify the experience so customers can access the value they’re looking for and make meaningful progress toward their goals.

How do our Humility, Ownership, and Growth Mindset values shape your approach to work?

Dan: I try my best to live the values (particularly humility and growth mindset) in general, as I think they are foundational to a happy and successful life. In a work context, they are most certainly integral to succeeding in my role (sales). For example, humility is a necessary component of honest, value-centric selling. Maintaining a growth mindset is as important a trait I can think of in the fast-paced, often complex world of technology sales.

Tyler: Our HOG values help shape how I show up for my customers and my colleagues. Each day can bring new opportunities as well as challenges both professionally and personally, so I see our value framework as a reminder to operate with a positive perspective and work together to make good things happen.

Kelson: These values are key to how I approach my role as an Engineering Manager. Humility, to me, is about knowing the best ideas often come from others—whether it’s my team, cross-functional partners, or customers. Ownership is about more than delivering code; it’s about tackling the right problems, making thoughtful trade-offs, and delivering work that creates meaningful impact for users and the business. Growth Mindset drives me to see challenges as opportunities to push boundaries, strengthen collaboration, and help my team grow. Together, these values help me lead with intention and ensure our work moves the needle.

We admire Ampliteers who go above and beyond to ensure success for our customers and the business. What inspires you to be extraordinary in your role at Amplitude?

Dan: My fantastic colleagues who I work with day in and day out!

Tyler: I’m a natural people pleaser. In any job I’ve held, I’m motivated to help people find solutions to their problems and come out on the other side together with a win. I hope that people feel that they are better off due to spending time with me. There’s a lot Amplitude can do to help, so I get plenty of opportunities to try my best at this.

Kelson: I am driven by empowering teams to deliver value to the world through the products they build. Knowing that our work enables others to solve meaningful problems and make an impact is incredibly rewarding. But honestly, my team is what pushes me the most. They’re sharp, creative, and always ready to tackle tough challenges, and that energy makes me want to bring my best every day.

What personal or professional goals are you excited about for the future, and how do you envision Amplitude playing a part in your growth?

Dan: I’m excited to continue learning my craft, getting incrementally better week by week, and doing it all in a way that helps those around me. I’ve found Amplitude to be an incredible foundation for professional growth—the company strives for excellence and asks a lot from its employees but always maintains a strong focus on enabling teams with the support structures necessary for success. I think such an environment is conducive to learning and development, and I’m excited to see it both continue and hopefully play my part in giving back to the newer people who are coming up through the teams around me.

Tyler: I will always have a goal for myself never to stop learning. Technology continues to change at a rapid pace, so there’s no shortage of learning opportunities at Amplitude. I’m looking forward to seeing how that will influence the work we do and the conversations we have to naturally evolve. I’m betting my skill sets will evolve, too, as a result!

Kelson: I’m excited to find new ways to turn big ideas into solutions that solve meaningful problems. Staying ahead of the curve and helping shape what’s next in technology is a goal I’m eager to pursue. Amplitude has always encouraged bold thinking and created space to take risks and learn. I’m looking forward to continuing to grow here and seeing what we can accomplish together.
