Senior Talent Operations Coordinator, Amplitude

Q3 FY25 value award winners Mari Anderson, Teaja Smith, Jack Leiker, and Jake Lee

The Amplitude platform helps companies unlock the power of their data. And the power behind our platform? Our people!

Each quarter, we recognize four Ampliteers who champion the Amplitude values: humility, ownership, growth mindset, and customer centricity. Their commitment sets the course for how we show up and interact with each other and helps Amplitude shape data-driven success.

For Q3 of 2025, please join us in celebrating:

  • Humility: Mari Anderson, Senior Campaign Manager
  • Ownership: Teaja Smith, DEI, Employee Experience, & Social Impact Specialist
  • Growth Mindset: Jack Leiker, Velocity Account Executive
  • Customer Centricity: Jake Lee, Solutions Engineer

Tell us about yourself and how you joined Amplitude!

Mari: I’m based in Seattle and began my career in local news before pivoting into marketing. I joined Amplitude in early 2022 and quickly moved onto the newly formed Global Campaigns team, where I’ve been ever since. From the start, I knew Amplitude was something special and a place where I wanted to grow my career. I’ve now been here for over four years!

Teaja: After graduating from college, I wanted to try every job—mental health, program management, running cultural centers, event producer—and then I started doing DEI and Social Impact work. That led me to Amplitude. I started doing DEI work here, which quickly transformed into a Social Impact and Employee Experience role as well. I enjoyed the role so much that I’m a boomerang (I’ve worked here twice).

Jack: I was looking for an opportunity at a high-end software company with a cool, valuable, and genuinely useful solution, something I could truly get behind to sell. When I came across Amplitude, I didn’t think twice about joining the sales organization here. The product, the people, and the mission to help teams build better products immediately stood out, and I’m excited to be part of a company that’s shaping how modern teams understand and improve their digital experiences.

Jake: Before joining Amplitude, I worked across multiple roles as a data engineer, product manager, and front-end engineer. I not only built products but also used analytics tools firsthand as an end user. As my career progressed, I realized I wanted to work closer to customers, helping them solve real problems and get the most value out of the products they use. Joining Amplitude as a Technical Support Engineer felt like the perfect fit. Since then, it’s been an amazing journey of growth, seeing a wide range of use cases and helping customers tackle complex business problems with data.

What does your winning value mean to you? How does it shape how you work?

Mari: Humility, to me, means leading without ego, listening more than I speak, and intentionally highlighting the achievements of others. It shapes how I show up every day, especially in my role as co-lead of our Women in Tech community (alongside the phenomenal Emily Knippa!). My goal with this community is to create an inclusive, empowering space where women at Amplitude can grow through shared knowledge, professional development, increased visibility, and community connections.

Teaja: For me, ownership means taking the initiative to solve problems. One of the amazing things about Amplitude is that we have the autonomy to run with any idea. I can look at my role, see the problems the company may face, and get creative about how to solve them at the root rather than just the symptoms. I love developing and running programs to ensure everyone feels they can show up as their best selves and that Amplitude cares about their growth and development. So, I work harder and refine my approach to better meet the needs of our Ampliteers.

Jack: Growth mindset, to me, means showing up every day and putting my best foot forward in the work in front of me. I’ve learned firsthand that when I take the right steps and really invest in a deal, the hard work pays off more often than not. Amplitude is a great place to stay motivated because people across the sales org and in other roles are consistently seeing big wins.

Jake: For me, customer centricity starts with listening—not just to what is said, but to what is behind it. It means understanding the underlying pain points, observing how customers use the product and where they may run into limitations, and offering the right level of guidance at the right time. Because Amplitude uniquely supports both PLG motions and enterprise use cases, we work with a wide range of customers with very different levels of data maturity. Being customer-centric often means adjusting to the right wavelength, so I can truly understand, resonate with, and effectively communicate their needs across teams.

What’s a recent time you put your winning value into practice? How did it help?

Mari: Leading our Women in Tech community has been a great way to put the Humility value into practice. This year, we’re launching an internal database to support peer-to-peer mentoring, offering workshops on topics such as negotiating, and spotlighting members at company All Hands. By taking the time to listen closely to what our community needed, Emily and I shaped our 2026 plans around their feedback, helping us build a more impactful, supportive program.

Teaja: In 2025, our team focused on pouring into our Ampliteers. To do so, I developed a program called Amplitude Ascent. The Amplitude Ascent program is a year-long initiative designed to provide meaningful opportunities for Community Leads and members to enhance their professional, cultural, and personal growth, and the results were better than I even dreamed. Speed coaching with leadership, community workshops, culture-building, and group coaching created an experience Ampliteers described as “transformational.”

Jack: A recent example of putting my winning mindset into practice was how I supported an opportunity with Poshmark. Earlier in the year, I helped surface key pain points around fragmented analytics and a lack of visibility. By re-engaging at the right time in Q3 and supporting the team through demos and POV discussions with leadership, we’ve helped the deal gain serious momentum. Staying focused, proactive, and collaborative helped the opportunity progress quickly when the timing aligned.

Jake: In 2025 Q3, I worked with a customer who needed to customize our SDK to meet complex EU compliance requirements, specifically around hashing sensitive user data while preserving analytical value. Realizing this was a broader need for many EU customers, I helped connect the customer with the right internal teams to review and merge their proposed PR. This not only unblocked the customer but also improved our SDK for future use cases. It reinforced how listening carefully and amplifying feedback through the right channels can create lasting impact.

What excites you personally or professionally about your future at Amplitude?

Mari: I’m most excited about the team at Amplitude and what we can accomplish together. This year, we’re launching exciting products, collaborating more closely across the company, and continuing to improve how we show up for our customers and each other. Being part of a thoughtful, data-driven team makes me genuinely excited about what’s ahead!

Teaja: I’m excited for the people. I tell all our new hires that our Ampliteers are intelligent, live our values, and are excited to lend a helping hand and collaborate. Right now, Amplitude is on an accelerated track of innovation—we all have to move at a bullet-train pace. When you have a team dedicated to improvement, building the best products and data, you can see and believe in the success ahead.

Jack: What excites me most about my future at Amplitude is seeing how fast our analytics offerings are improving and incorporating AI. Customer visualization is already critical to the success of every business, and making user insights so accessible is invaluable. Being part of a team that brings this kind of impact to customers is rewarding!

Jake: What excites me most about my future at Amplitude is that we’re at a real tipping point in innovation, driven by rapid advances in AI. For many companies, this moment will be critical to their long-term success and even survival. I’m excited that Amplitude is pushing innovation in bold ways while balancing strategy, scalability, and customer trust. As I’ve joined the Solutions Engineering team, being able to unfold and communicate this unique value to potential customers is especially exciting, and I’m really looking forward to the impact we’ll create in the year ahead.
