Can you tell us about yourself and how you landed your role at Amplitude?

I was living in the Bay Area and had been working at big companies, but I’d wanted to try a mid-to-late-stage startup for a while. I really see data as the foundation for so many things, so six years ago I applied to join Amplitude. During the interviews, everyone came across as super friendly, easy to work with, and passionate about our mission. I knew it was the place for me.

How does our Customer Centricity value shape your approach to work?

Amplitude’s mission is to help customers understand their own customers. Their success drives our success, so we keep that in mind with every decision. It shapes how we work—always focused on creating real value for our customers.

I mostly work on our data ingestion systems. Customers don’t see them directly, but they’re pretty complex and shape how events get processed and enriched, which makes a big difference for them. Thinking about that customer impact really helps me figure out if a change is worth making, especially when it involves changes to existing behavior.

We admire Ampliteers who go above and beyond to ensure success for our customers and the business. What inspires you to be extraordinary in your role at Amplitude?

I don’t really think of myself as extraordinary. What inspires me is seeing how everyone on the product team keeps customer impact at the center of every decision. Over the past six years, I’ve learned so much from other engineers through countless discussions. I feel grateful to work with and learn from such a thoughtful team, and all of these experiences have shaped who I am today.

What personal or professional goals are you excited about for the future, and how do you envision Amplitude playing a part in your growth?

I usually lean toward iterative, progressive changes, and I know I can get better at thinking big. At Amplitude, there are always exciting ideas—for example, right now, a lot of them are AI-related—that nudge me out of my comfort zone. I like how these moments push me to grow and see things differently.
