This series installment spotlights Romain Liegeois, Senior Customer Success Manager and recent winner of Amplitude’s Values Award for Ownership for Q1 2025.

Can you tell us about yourself and how you landed your role at Amplitude?

I joined Amplitude as a Customer Success Manager in 2023, after gaining experience at French SaaS companies both in Montréal and France. With a background in engineering and a strong interest in business, I’ve held various customer-facing roles throughout my career. Customer Success is where I truly thrive—I’m passionate about building meaningful relationships with customers, acting as a product expert and strategic advisor, and collaborating cross-functionally to align customer goals with our product roadmap.

Before joining Amplitude, I was on the lookout for a “five-legged sheep”: a fast-paced environment, a product I could genuinely stand behind, and a manager who would both inspire and challenge me to grow. Amplitude checked every box—and nearly three years later, I’m still just as excited to be here!

How does your work at Amplitude help create a world where technology is frustration-free? Can you share a project you’re particularly proud of that reflects this goal?

As a CSM, my role is to ensure that our customers not only adopt Amplitude, but truly get the most out of it so they can build better products that deliver value to end users in an instant.

I believe human connection and knowledge-sharing play a key role in making this happen. That’s why I’m especially proud of my involvement in the French Amplitude user community. There’s nothing more impactful than customers learning from one another, facing similar challenges, and exchanging insights and best practices.

I’m really proud and fortunate to work closely with some amazing advocates that always answers present to uplift others in the community, like Marion from Evaneos, Marie-Sophie from WeWard, and Hermine from Stuart, just to name a few!

How do our Humility, Ownership, and Growth Mindset values shape your approach to work?

In the tech industry and at Amplitude, we’re working with and on digital products—but we are all humans. Humility helps us connect to each other and play as a team.

Ownership is a value I deeply appreciate. Regardless of our individual roles or scope, we’re all aligned around a shared goal: delivering exceptional value and satisfaction to our customers.

And finally, growth is essential. In such a fast-moving space, staying still means falling behind. I’m committed to continuous learning so I can provide the best possible guidance and support to my customers.

We admire Ampliteers who go above and beyond to ensure success for our customers and the business. What inspires you to be extraordinary in your role at Amplitude?

The people! My customers are genuinely passionate individuals, deeply committed to making an impact. Many of them go above and beyond by sharing their stories and best practices within the community, which speaks volumes about their generosity and drive to give back.

Internally, Ampliteers are equally inspiring—hardworking, collaborative, and always willing to lend a hand. Even as we’ve grown to over 800 employees, there’s still a strong sense of accessibility and connection; everyone is just a Slack away, including our CEO. The CS org is made up of some of the most positive and team-oriented people I’ve ever had the chance to work with. And last but not least, the partnership between Sales and CSMs is truly exceptional!

Being in an environment like this makes it impossible not to give your all.

What personal or professional goals are you excited about for the future, and how do you envision Amplitude playing a part in your growth?

I’m currently transitioning into a more Enterprise role with fewer customers but higher-impact engagements. While it’s bittersweet to part ways with some of the customers, I’m excited to grow in this new chapter.

On a different topic, I’m genuinely excited about the AI transformation happening across the industry, and especially within Amplitude. As we evolve into an AI-first company, I’m thrilled to be part of this journey—both internally, with the cutting-edge tools we’re adopting, and externally, through the powerful AI capabilities and the upcoming Amplitude AI Agents that our exceptional Product team is preparing to launch. It’s an exciting time to grow alongside the company and help our customers harness the full potential of AI-powered analytics.
